When it comes to Southern cooking, there are a few things that we consider their own food group: bbq, bacon, biscuits, banana pudding, and bourbon. (And yes, these are just the “Bs.” Just give us a dictionary – we could go on and on and on…)
And when you take one of these Southern staples and add it to another? Well, that’s what makes Southern recipes so darn good.
So, let’s start with dessert. Because hey, why not? And when it comes to Southern recipes for dessert, pecan pie is a must. But not just any ole’ pecan pie. Pecan pie with a shot of bourbon.
Richer and more complex than your average pecan pie served during the holidays, this pecan pie recipe is given a Southern twist with a little bourbon. (Don’t worry, the bourbon will evaporate when you bake the pie – leaving behind a truly decadent dessert.)
