To the Waterways
Set Sail from Wilson Landing
Easy access to the rippling waterways that circuit Palmetto Bluff comes courtesy of the Wilson Landing marina. Originally conceived as a dry storage facility to benefit Palmetto Bluff members with private vessels, the impressive facility has greatly expanded its offerings since opening in 2006. Along with adding kayak and paddleboard storage for members, the marina has become a social hub, hosting monthly themed happy hours, seasonal parties, and two much anticipated annual events: The Start of Season Boat Show and the End of Season Party for Wilson Landing Boat Club members. Monthly boat excursions across the Lowcountry have become a favorite for the boating community, where trips to places like Beaufort, Savannah, and the Port Royal Maritime Museum include lunch, happy hour, and a hearty camaraderie between boating buddies.
A word from
Stephan Szymanski, Marina Director at Wilson Landing
“It’s so gratifying to see new Palmetto Bluff Club relationships blossom at the Wilson Marina. Through our shared happy hours, boating excursions and seasonal parties, there’s a real camaraderie between them–forged by a mutual love of time spent on the water.”
Meet the Fleet
The Wilson Landing Boat Club, established in 2015, gives Palmetto Bluff Club members and boating enthusiasts without their own vessels the opportunity to explore the Bluff’s breathtaking waterways. With a fleet of more than 20 salt- and freshwater boats—including a Carolina Skiff, Electric Duffy, and Electric Cruiser—members can enjoy everything from sunset cruises to fishing adventures. New members also receive six hours of hands-on training in vessel operation, water safety, and navigation.
A Trio of Rolling Rivers
As a community surrounded by rivers on three sides, Palmetto Bluff offers a lifestyle as inspiring on the water as it is on the land. The May River to the north and northeast, the Cooper River to the east and southeast, and the New River to the south and southwest invite days of exploration and adventure. The shimmering ribbons of waterway circuiting the Bluff welcome families and friends on kayaks and canoes, Duffy boats and paddleboards. Sandy shores set the stage for noonday picnics, or wine and cheese beneath the pastel pinks of sunset. And both the Catch-of-the-Day (and the one-that-got-away) anticipate fishermen eager for an afternoon of solitude on the water.
