During this workshop, Ross will teach participants techniques to compose original verse and chorus and how to draw on personal experiences to help inspire and create music. This workshop will impart knowledge from an experienced and accoladed musician to aspiring songwriters and musicians. Join us in the May River Chapel for an intimate evening of music and stories. Clay Ross, multi-Grammy-winning artist and the founder of the Billboard chart-topping band Ranky Tanky, will be playing a live and intimate concert in Wilson Village’s beautiful chapel, complemented by the gorgeous backdrop of the May River. A native of South Carolina, Ross moved to New York City in 2002 and has since collaborated with artists as diverse as Gregory Porter, Snarky Puppy, and Bobby McFerrin. As a teaching artist, through renowned cultural institutions, including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, Ross has facilitated various musical experiences, ranging from stand-alone concerts to intensive year-long creative workshops designed to impact participants’ daily lives.
