Before you let your New Year’s resolutions quietly fade, remember this: there are still eleven months ahead. Plenty of time. Plenty of possibilities.
This year offers a different approach—one inspired by connection and support. At Palmetto Bluff, you’re surrounded by people and resources designed to help you move forward, not just start strong.

“Too often, people set goals without truly reflecting on what they want,” says Jeff Ford, Palmetto Bluff Club Director of Fitness & Wellness. “Instead of jumping straight into change, it’s about gaining clarity—understanding why your life will be better once you get there.”
That philosophy is at the heart of Wellness Week, a thoughtfully curated series of more than 25 talks spanning the full spectrum of well-being. The goal is simple: to reframe resolutions as an ongoing journey, not a once-a-year reset.
“The first step is presence. The second is direction,” Ford explains. “We encourage people to draw the map. When you understand where you’re headed, you can define the target—and then take action.”
Ford’s roadmap centers on what he calls the “Five Fs”: Fitness, Faith, Financial, Fun, and Family. Progress, he says, comes from aligning small, intentional, behavior-based goals that quietly build momentum.
“It can be as simple as reintroducing routines that fell away—committing to a consistent bedtime, being more intentional with your time, or setting thoughtful limits around alcohol,” Ford notes.

That last intention resonates with many, and Palmetto Bluff Beverage Director Gene Castellino offers a mindful perspective for those looking to reset their habits.
“Across our restaurants and events, we’re intentional about offering elevated non-alcoholic options,” Castellino says. “There are incredible NA cocktails available now—far beyond juice or sparkling water. For me, it’s about balance. Choosing two alcohol-free days each week creates structure without feeling restrictive.”
Ford agrees, emphasizing sustainability over perfection.
“You can design your habits so social moments still feel celebratory,” he says. “Maybe Fridays and Saturdays are for gathering with friends, while the rest of the week supports your wellness goals. That kind of balance—addition by subtraction—has made a meaningful difference for many of our members.”
Because at Palmetto Bluff, progress isn’t about starting over. It’s about moving forward—together.
