Metalsmith Christina Jervey launched her jewelry line in 2008 in a studio on the bluff overlooking Charleston Harbor in South Carolina. Her line of handmade jewelry features her signature structural style and includes casually elegant earrings, bracelets, necklaces and rings.
Christina joins us on Monday, June 18th for a week of workshops and Gallery Hours as our June Artist in Residence. On Monday, join us at the Artist Cottage for a Meet + Greet. From 4 – 6 p.m., members and guests can stop by the Cottage to learn more about Christina and learn more about her process. You can also shop her latest jewelry collection while enjoying cocktails and light bites. Tickets are available for this event and can be found here.
If you can’t make it on Monday, stop by the Artist Cottage between 10AM–12PM Tuesday–Friday to chat with the artist and learn the process of her craft.
Christina will also be hosting two workshops during her stay at Palmetto Bluff. Basics of Wax-Carving gives guests a chance to design a custom charm necklace under the tutelage of Christina, using the lost wax casting process. Guests will learn how to carve hard wax with files, scribes, and other wax carving tools to create a customized charm necklace. Christina will cast their piece after the workshop in bronze and mail them the resulting one-of-a-kind accessory. Metalsmithing for Beginners will delve into the basics of metalsmithing – sawing, filing, soldering, forging, and polishing – alongside Christina to create a series of stackable gold rings. Both of these workshops are sold out.
