Made in the South Award winner Colin O’Reilly set out to create “something for drinkers that doesn’t take away from the experience of the bourbon or whiskey.” After much trial, error, and experimentation, O’Reilly has now mastered the art of refined and elemental glass design.
Colin founded Terrane Glass in 2016. An experienced glassblower, Colin moved his family to Spruce Pine, North Carolina where the natural landscape inspired his work. His elegant work displays years of learning the art of glassblowing and now Colin is sharing his work with Palmetto Bluff as the September Artist in Residence.
The Artist Cottage will be open Tuesday, September 25, through Friday, September 28 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. for members and guests to learn more about the art of glassblowing and shop Colin’s latest collection.
Although beautifully designed, this barware can also enhance various cocktails and spirits. Join Colin and Jesse Rodriguez, Director of Wine at Montage Palmetto Bluff, for Cocktail Tasting with Terrane. This hands-on workshop will explore how different styles and shapes of barware enhance our drinks. This workshop will be held on Thursday, September 27 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Terrane Glass adds a plethora of items to its collection in addition to barware. From lamps to vases and bowls, Terrane has a complete collection of household items to explore. On Friday, September 28, Colin will host a Terrarium workshop at the Artist Cottage from 1 to 3 p.m. This workshop will teach the art and craft of building a terrarium with a vessel made by Colin himself.
As always, Colin will host a Meet + Greet on Monday, September 24 from 4 to 6 p.m. For more information, visit www.palmettobluffartist.com/september.%GALLERY%
