Make mine a slushy, please! (A Rosé slushy, that is.)
With temps on the rise, we’re dreaming about refreshing cocktails to get us through the dog days of summer. While rosé has quite a colorful history (dating back to the 6th century BC), this pink French wine has been a favorite summer “go-to” drink since the early 2000s. And now it’s gotten an upgrade: frosé (frozen rosé wine) seems to be the next big thing for hot summer days.
Well, we’d like to take it a step further.
A frozen rosé cocktail that is sure to be your new favorite summer drink, Sommelier Bob Smith from The Boundary Bottle shop shares his recipe for Watermelon Frosé.
Recipe:
1/2 bottle (750 ml or approx. 13 oz) good Rosé
3 oz vodka*
6 oz fresh watermelon juice
1.5 oz lemon juice
2 oz simple syrup
Directions:
1. Add all ingredients and ice and blend. You may need to split the recipe in half depending on the size of your blender.
2. Pour into glasses.
3. Garnish with a mint leaf and wedge of watermelon.
4. Enjoy!
Makes roughly 30 oz. or 5, 6-oz. servings.
*To make it a bit more interesting, you can substitute Banks 5 Island Rum for the vodka.
A sweet and tart drink perfect for any day of the week, step up your summer cocktail game (and stay deliciously cool) with this refreshing pink drink.
