There aren’t many things better than waking up in the mornings when the dew is still on the ground and enjoying the tranquility of the quiet. While some read the newspaper to get their daily dose of repose, others sit in their screened-in porches sipping their cup of joe. But, if you are one of those people who enjoy the early wake up of a run, Palmetto Bluff is just the place. With miles upon miles of nature trails, picturesque scenery and salty air, a run at the Bluff gives you time to recharge and enjoy the scenery around you.
Whether you prefer to put on your headphones and focus on the time or run alongside friends with laughs and motivation, the Rise & Run series takes you through a 10K course winding through the backwoods of Palmetto Bluff, following sandy and dirt trails through ancient maritime forests. This sneak peak of the Buffalo Run 10K course begins at the Canteen in Moreland Village at 7 a.m. on September 9.
If you’re looking for the official time, another chance to run the 10K or on the hunt for the next challenge, take a look at the 4th annual Buffalo Run. Choose from a 10K, 30K and 50K race on Sunday, October 8, that benefits the Palmetto Bluff Conservancy. The Palmetto Bluff Conservancy is dedicated to protecting the lush maritime forests and winding tidal creeks that define this spectacular piece of land.
With a 10K, 30K and 50K options, you can pick your favorite distance. Grab your best (or fastest) friend and compete in the relay race and don’t be afraid to get a little muddy though- it’s all a part of the experience. After the race, join us for the after party with live music, buffalo wings (it wouldn’t be a Buffalo Run without them), a free beer and race awards for the overall winners as well as those in each age group.
