What’s New at Palmetto Bluff

It’s been a year since Palmetto Bluff was acquired by South Street Partners, the largest owner and operator of private club residential and resort communities in the Southeast. And what a year it’s been.

 

 

This picturesque community has been infused with a new vitality. Recognizing the growing demands for community enhancements at all levels, South Street Partners has expanded programming, introduced new amenities at both the Club and resort and reimagined existing spaces—while still respecting the 20,000 acres of pristine land surrounding it.

 

Starting with the grand opening of Flame Food Truck in May, the community has seen a record number of Club enhancements over the past few months:

 

May River Golf Course

 

Golf: May River Golf Course updates & additions

 

  • Major re-sodding projects: #1 fairway, #3 fairway & oak tree, #4 fairway & rough

  • Creation of event lawn behind the Clubhouse

  • Member golf cart parking area

  • New practice facility furniture

  • New tee markers and divot boxes

  • Regrassing and leveling of several tee boxes

  • Tree work (with input from Jay Walea from the Palmetto Bluff Conservancy)

  • Underbrush and overgrowth clearing

 

Longfield Stables

 

Sporting Life: Shooting Club, Longfield Stables & Wilson Lawn & Racquet Club

 

  • Shooting Club: the new clubhouse at the Shooting Club is nearing completion, and there have been landscape and maintenance improvements on the original as well as the new sporting clays courses. Also nearing completion on the trap and skeet field.

  • Longfield Stables: major irrigation upgrades for horse paddocks, barn irrigation and landscaping upgrades, bridle path refurbishment, new fencing, automatic paddock water fountains, repairs to wash racks, tree work and landscaping cleanup, new jumps, and more

  • Wilson Lawn and Racquet Club: the tennis area will be updated with a revitalization of the shade structures as well as new paint, new fans, roof repairs, and furniture refinishing/reupholstery

 

Wellness: Canoe Club & Moreland fitness studios

 

  • Moreland Movement Studio: new fitness studio includes state-of-the-art equipment including treadmills, elliptical and rowing machines, cycling, motion trainers, pilates, and personal training

  • Canoe Club Fitness: the existing studio was updated to include a Peloton bike, rowing and elliptical machines, and strength stations

 

Flame Food Truck

 

Food & Beverage: Food Trucks, Hush, Buzz, Market Refurbishments, New Menus & More

 

  • Flame Food Truck: grand opening in May featuring a selection of artisanal pizzas, salads, Italian favorites, desserts, and beverages

  • Hush: new speakeasy located on the bottom level of the River House opened Memorial Day weekend

  • Buzz: a new coffee shop also located in the River House

  • Bluebird Food Truck: located adjacent to the hotel

  • Canoe Club & Moreland Pools: updated pool snack bars premiered Memorial Day weekend

  • RT’s Market & Canteen: updates and renovations

  • Cole’s & Canoe Club: new menus introduced by new Executive Chef Rhy Waddington.

 

On the Water: Marina & Boat Fleet updates

 

  • New Dorado fishing boat added to the fleet

  • Miranda: new luxury Hinckley 36’ picnic boat available for private charters

  • Estelle: new electric boat added to the inland waterway fleet offers guided cruises through Palmetto Bluff’s fresh inland water trails*

*Estelle can accommodate 10 passengers and is only accessible by being a part of the Boat Club.

 

The Farm: Expansion & Updates

 

  • New shop/office building

  • New covered pavilion with expanded fenced garden area

  • Re-imagined greenhouse to allow for kitchen/food and beverage opportunities

 

Club Updates
The lower level of the Canoe Club will be upfitted for enhanced Outside Palmetto Bluff space as well as Palmetto Bluff Club offices.

 

While Palmetto Bluff Club members enjoy special privileges across the property, membership in the Palmetto Bluff Club means more than the chance to enjoy exceptional club amenities. It’s a culture that nurtures a sense of belonging and connectivity among members—many who come from all points of the globe to live the best of the Lowcountry.
